Join Our Team as a Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Department!

Epic Travel Staffing is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Emergency Department (ED) at the prestigious University of Vermont Medical Center , a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital.

In this dynamic position, you will provide acute emergency care during 12-hour day shifts , working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. With a travel nursing assignment lasting approximately 51 weeks , you’ll have the chance to grow professionally through cross-training in multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients in a busy ED setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including ED attendings and residency programs.
• Perform essential procedures such as IV placement, phlebotomy, and EKGs.
• Manage critical care transports and assist with psych holds.
• Utilize advanced equipment like Alaris IV pumps and Phillips monitors.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, with at least 2 years in the ED specialty.
• Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and Epic.
• Preferred: CEN, ENPC, MOAB, or other de-escalation training.
• Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is ideal but not mandatory if you have worked in larger teaching facilities.

Working Conditions

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-6 depending on volume and acuity.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend or equivalent.
• Holiday Requirements: Availability for at least 2 major winter holidays and other holidays throughout the year.
• Self-Scheduling: Not available.
